A webring is a great way of linking to sites similar in content or theme to your own. Sites are arranged in a circle, and automated code allows visitors to your site and others in the webring to travel backwards, forwards, and even randomly through the ring.

Why Not Just Have a Link List of "Member Sites"?
Sites come, and sites go. With a traditional link list, you would have to update your link list every time a site joined the group, left the group, or moved to a new server. With a webring, you install the code once and then the webring code handles the rest.

What If I Move My Site to Another Server After Joining?
It's easy. You just come back here and update your information. The webring code will make sure that all the other sites in the ring can find your site INSTANTLY.
Sure. As long as your site does have content that is expressly forbidden by the rules of the webring, you are welcome to join.

I've Decided This Webring Stuff Isn't For Me. Can I Leave the Webring?
Sure. You are free to leave the ring any time you choose. Just contact the ringmaster.

No. Bandwidth is limited. Please download the graphic to your own server. We will be periodically renaming the graphic stored here. Anyone who is linking to it may be removed from the ring.

My Host Doesn't Allow Users To Install Their Own JAVA or CGI Stuff. Can I Still Join?
You bet! There's no JAVA or CGI required. The code is just a few simple lines of HTML. It's not much different than the code used for a list of links, but much shorter.

I Got Email Saying I'm In The Queue, But Don't Show Up In The Ring, Why Not?
The "queue" and the "ring" are not the same thing. As soon as you enter your registration information, you are placed in the queue. The queue is a "temporary holding" area where you wait until the ring master has reviewed and approved your site and verified that webring code is properly installed.

I WAS In the Ring, but Got A Message Saying I Was Moved Back to the Queue. Why?
There are a number of reasons why you may be placed back the queue. In most cases you will get an email message from the ringmaster explaining why you were moved back to the queue. Make SURE that the email address on file is VALID.

Is There A Time Limit On How Long I Can Stay In The Queue?
Yes. There is. If you sit in the queue you will be automatically removed after 30 days. If this happens, you will have to re-join the ring. When you re-join you will be assigned a new site ID and will need to update your webring code to reflect this new site ID number.
